It is a rare occurrence to see a dentist in the emergency department, even when there is a true dental emergency. This talk will help the EP treat patients with most dental emergencies and, equally importantly, identify which patients require emergent care by a dentist. The need to involve a dentist in your patient's care must be an informed decision, since in many cases, this requires transferring the patient to an alternate facility.
Learning Objectives:
..treat pediatric patients with teeth fractures, luxations and avulsions.
...treat adult patients with teeth luxations and avulsions.
...identify adult and pediatric dental complaints that should not be handled by an EP and require emergent involvement of a dentist.
