This lecture highlights the critical importance of emergency room (ER) physicians remaining informed about diseases once considered rare or distant, such as measles, leprosy, elephantiasis, and dengue fever. It will emphasize the growing necessity for all healthcare professionals to actively engage in public health to manage these conditions effectively.
