The prehospital world is a different beast than the ER, often requiring medical expertise from us as Emergency Medicine physicians on shift. Terminating resuscitation efforts in the field is a lesser common request for medical direction, but remains a most serious discussion. Knowing every EMS agency’s TOR guidelines is impossible…let’s build a basic understanding and factors that should be considered in field termination.
