Hypertension in the Emergency Department is often glazed over in a patient's work up, but what should bring you alarm when you see an elevated number in a child? Hypertension has life long and critical implications for children that should not be overlooked. This talk will address the most common issues with obtaining an accurate blood pressure, history and exam findings that should make you concerned, approaches to evaluation and ultimately how to manage pediatric hypertension effectively in your shop.

Be able to identify hypertension and high risk history and exam findings that should prompt further evaluation in children with hypertension.
Develop a systematic approach to pediatric hypertension evaluation and management in the emergency department.
