Michael E. Silverman, MD FAAEM, is Vice-chair of the Dept of EM and associate Chief Medical Officer at Morristown Medical Center in N.J.
He has worked at Morristown since 1999. Over his time at Morristown, he has worked in the emergency department, as a travel medicine consulting physician, and as a hyperbaric medicine physician. He holds Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Dr. Silverman’s roles include Director of Operations which includes the improvement in Quality and Flow of the department, as well as bringing innovations to care. He has leading roles in Hospital and System committees on the treatment of Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction. He is the ED system lead for Provider EMR governance as well as new technologies.
He has lectured nationally on many topics, including Sepsis, Stroke, Cardiology, Trauma, and Environmental Emergencies. Also, he lectures nationally on the yearly maintenance of certification topics for emergency medicine physicians
