Dr. Frosso Adamakos is an award-winning emergency physician who built her career focusing on medical education and has since grown to become an expert on matters of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in medicine. Dr. Adamakos completed residency as a chief resident at Maimonides Medical Center, and worked in the greater NYC area for 10 years. She was previously the Vice Chair of Education and Medical Education Fellowship Director at the Metropolitan-Harlem Emergency Medicine Residency. In 2024 she moved her family including her 5 year old daughter and 3 year old twin boys to Ottawa, Canada and is now the Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity and Accessibility at the Ottawa Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine. She lectures internationally on a variety of lecture topics, specializing in DEI matters, is involved in many organizations supporting this role, and has multiple research projects and grants focusing on this topic. In her large amount of spare time she has, she enjoys every winter sport she can get her hands on.
