Melanie Heniff, MD, JD, MHA, FAAEM, FAAP is board certified in Emergency Medicine, General Pediatrics, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine with over 25 years of clinical practice post-residency. She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and divides her full time clinical practice between IU Methodist Hospital and Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. She is also a licensed attorney in Indiana doing legal consulting, child advocacy law, and claims review/consulting/risk management for a large national professional liability insurance company. She is the current Vice Chair of the AAEM Legal Committee. In her free time, she enjoys travel, exercise, long hikes with her German Shepherd, reading, spending time with family and friends, and is a dedicated Purdue Basketball fan.
