Dr. Jen Carnell completed emergency medicine residency and emergency ultrasound fellowship at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. She is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Ultrasound Director for the Emergency Department at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and works clinically at Ben Taub Hospital. In her time as a faculty member at Baylor, Dr. Carnell developed the ultrasound program for the emergency medicine residency, the emergency ultrasound fellowship, and introduced point of care ultrasound (POCUS) to the medical school curriculum. Her academic interests include the use of point of care ultrasound in low resource settings and in the evaluation of the critically ill, and ultrasound curriculum development.
