Michael C. Bond, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and an Chief of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center - Midtown Campus in Baltimore. He is also the associate designated institutional official at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Bond received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
After completing medical school, he completed a one-year preliminary medicine internship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, before fulfilling his military commitment with the US Navy. Dr. Bond has served on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) as a General Medical Officer and at the Branch Medical Clinic at Dam Neck, Virginia. Dr. Bond then completed an emergency medicine/internal medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and an Emergency Medicine Foundation teaching fellowship with the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Bond is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Emergency Physicians, Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors. He has received several awards for his work in emergency medicine, most recently the Mitchell Goldman Service Award from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the National Teaching Award from ACEP.
Dr. Bond has authored or co-authored 40 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 4 books, and 21 book chapters. He has presented more than 200 lectures and workshops at facilities and professional society meetings nationally and internationally.
