Dr. Amrita Vempati, MD, FACEP, completed Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2012 and completed residency training from St. John Hospital and Medical Center in 2015. She further completed the ACEP Teaching Fellowship and Residency Administration Fellowship. She worked as a faculty and simulation director at St. John prior to moving to Phoenix, Arizona. Over the past 6 years, she has been serving as an Associate Program Director at Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix Emergency Program. She also served as Medical Simulation Director for more than 7 years, she pioneered immersive learning experiences, developing and debriefing numerous simulation cases. Currently serving as Foundations National Curriculum FIII Course Director for over 2 years, Dr. Vempati leads curriculum development and delivery, ensuring foundational education in emergency medicine is current and impactful. Dr. Vempati's commitment to educational excellence extends beyond the institution, having delivered national lectures on simulation education, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) topics. Published author of simulation cases and contributor to medical education literature, Dr. Vempati continues to shape the future of emergency medicine education through research, mentorship, and dynamic teaching methodologies. She is a recipient of multiple teaching awards, recognizing dedication to mentorship and innovation in medical education. In 2024, Dr. Vempati launched the inaugural Simulation Wars hosted by AzCEP, where she designed and wrote challenging simulation cases that engage and educate emergency medicine residents state-wide.
