Lauren Friend, MD is an assistant professor at University of Chicago in the section of Emergency Medicine. She obtained her fellowship training in Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine at University of California San Francisco. She trained in Emergency Medicine at University of Illinois Chicago where she served as education chief and developed a training program for Chicago EMS to improve prehospital proficiency in obstetric emergencies. She has spoken nationally on obstetric emergencies and has a passion for improving care for obstetric patients in both the prehospital and the emergency department setting.
