Tony Zitek, MD, FAAEM is an attending emergency medicine physician, core faculty member, and researcher for the Kaiser Permanente Central Valley Emergency Medicine Residency Program in California. He graduated from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Nevada program in Las Vegas. In his career, he has been core faculty for four different emergency medicine residency programs. As a faculty member, he has won several teaching awards. He is an editor for Western Journal of Emergency Medicine and has over 50 PubMed-indexed publications which cover a variety of topics in emergency medicine, including reducing healthcare costs, the appropriate use of diagnostic tests, and resuscitation. While not in the ED, Tony enjoys watching and playing sports, playing poker, spending time with his beautiful wife, and running after his very high energy young children.
